Which LAN cable for a house
Cat 6 UTP solid copper is the right default: it carries gigabit to every room and leaves headroom. Cat 6A is for 10-gigabit runs and offices. Avoid CCA (copper-clad aluminium) for runs inside walls; it is cheaper but loses signal and cannot carry PoE power reliably. The Cat 6 home networking guide covers sockets and layout.
