The Electrician–Retailer Nexus: How Duplicate Wire Reaches Your Home

Most homeowners never buy their own wire. They hand the job to an electrician, the electrician "arranges the material", and the family trusts that what went into the walls is what they paid for. That trust is exactly what a small but real nexus between some electricians and some retailers exploits.

How the nexus works

• The steering. The electrician insists material must come from "his" shop — often with reasons like better rates or faster credit. You never visit the shop yourself.
• The switch. That shop bills a premium brand like Finolex but supplies a duplicate or look-alike coil — same colours, near-identical printing. On a site full of material, nobody checks one box closely.

2. Compare the price with 2–3 sellers — a "steal" is a warning
